Diner Dogs & Catering

Owner Richard Paul established Diner Dogs and Catering during the early months of the pandemic. Struggling to navigate the new rules, supply issues, and the inherent challenges that come with starting any new business, Richard was finally able to launch Diner Dogs on July 4th, 2020. Richard attributes his success with Diner Dogs to the "support local" mindset of the Kuna Community. Additionally, to the help and support of the Kuna Chamber of Commerce and especially Tractor Supply for allowing Diner Dogs to setup and serve on their property.

The most popular item is our namesake, "Diner Dog", a 10" Nathan's all beef hotdog served on a lightly grilled 8" bakery fresh bun. The Diner Dog includes customers choice of up to 6 of our 9 fresh toppings and choice of any of our 6 condiments including Yum-Yum sauce. Yum-Yum sauce is made in-house due to numerous customer requests to do so, Diner Dogs began bottling their sweet and zesty sauce beginning in 2023.

Fun Fact: Did you know that with our 9 different toppings and 6 dressings, you can enjoy a unique Diner Dog every day for over a year? In fact, you could order a Diner Dog every day for 504 days and still not repeat a combination! Now you know why Richard nearly always ask his customer, “How can I make it special for you?”

We also offer several other versions of the Diner Dog. Save a buck and order a "Naked Dog". This one comes easily undressed. Includes any choice of dressings but no toppings. For children and light eaters, save a couple dollars by choosing the "Puppy Dog", a smaller (regular size) Nathan's All Beef Hotdog, choice of up to 3 toppings plus any dressing. Sausage News!

Breaking News! The Cloverdale's Polish 1/4 Pound Sausage that became a very popular featured item in 2022 has now been added to our regular menu. This made in the USA pork and beef sausage is 7.5-inches and served on a lightly grilled bakery fresh bun. You’ll enjoy the flavor as well as the tender texture of this skinless frank. Includes up to 3 toppings and any dressings.

Street Food Favorites

On occasion we will feature an additional sausage option such as the German, Italian, or Kielbasa. In addition to those we try and regularly feature what we call a Street Food Favorite. This includes items such as our slow smoked meatloaf or pulled pork sandwich.

Another example would be "The Kaveman". This item is not on our regular menu because our ability to serve it depends on our supply of fresh Mac N Cheese which runs out at some point during every service. We hang a sign on our canopy to let you know it is available, and remove it when our supply of Mac N Cheese is exhausted.

Diner Dogs Lemonade

We start with a whole fresh lemon, pure cane sugar, and filtered water to squeeze you up an ice cold big 32oz. cup of the best lemonade in Idaho. Only available when you see our bright yellow and green lemonade stand setup beside the hotdog cart.

In addition to the original, we offer several flavors to add to your lemonade as well as some special options. For example, a Lloyd's Lemonade, named after a much beloved customer and Tractor Supply employee.

A Lloyd's Lemonade is our regular lemonade with half the sugar. We also offer a sugar-free "Splenda" option. Then there is a "Jacked-Up" lemonade, also named after a beloved customer Jack, who was the first to request this lemonade made with Mtn Dew instead of water. The Lloyd's Lemonade and Jacked-Up Lemonade are our secret (not-so-secret) drink menu options.

We also credit Jack with inspiring our Orange Crush Lemonade which IS on our drink menu. We follow the same recipe as the Jacked-Up version, but use an ice cold Orange Crush instead of the Mtn Dew. Since we are talking cold drinks, you won't regret ordering our Ice Cold Southern Style Sweet Tea. A Big 32 oz. Cup is a refreshing bargain at just $3 / tax included.
